Thor 5: Battle of the Gods | Teaser Trailer | Marvel Studios & Chris Hemsworth (2026)

The teaser trailer for Thor 5: Battle of the Gods begins with a sweeping shot of the cosmos, stars twinkling in a vast expanse of space. A voice echoes ominously: “The realms are in turmoil. Gods will fall. And a new era will begin.” The camera pans down to Asgard, now rebuilt and majestic after the events of Thor: Love and Thunder and Avengers: Endgame. But something is different—there’s a sense of foreboding in the air.

We catch our first glimpse of Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, standing on a cliff overlooking Asgard. His long hair blows in the wind, and his face is etched with worry. He’s holding Stormbreaker, but Mjolnir can also be seen strapped to his side. This dual-wielding of weapons hints at the immense challenges he is about to face. The screen cuts to black, and then we hear a deep, gravelly voice: “The gods of old are no longer safe.”

The next sequence of shots is fast-paced and intense. We see flashes of Thor battling unknown enemies, lightning crackling around him. Valkyrie, portrayed by Tessa Thompson, rides into battle with her sword gleaming. Korg, as always, brings a touch of humor, but there’s a grim determination in his eyes this time. Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, is also seen briefly, still wielding her reassembled Mjolnir as the Mighty Thor.

The trailer then introduces a new threat: a towering figure shrouded in darkness, only his glowing eyes visible. “I am the end of all gods,” he declares. This is the rumored villain, believed to be an ancient deity seeking to destroy all other gods and ascend as the supreme being. Speculation abounds that this character could be based on powerful figures from mythology, such as the Egyptian god Set or the Greek titan Cronus.

Quick flashes reveal other gods in peril—brief glimpses of Zeus (Russell Crowe) and Hercules (Brett Goldstein) from Thor: Love and Thunder, as well as hints of other deities from different mythologies. The trailer suggests that Thor will have to unite gods from across the pantheon to stand a chance against this new enemy.

As the teaser comes to a close, the final shot is of Thor, battered but unbroken, standing tall with lightning coursing through his veins. He looks directly at the camera and says, “This battle will be the end of us all… or the beginning of something greater.”

The screen goes dark, and the title card appears: Thor 5: Battle of the Gods. The trailer ends with the familiar Marvel Studios logo, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release in 2026.
